Stage Performer and National Entertainer Michael Carluccio Records Pop Standards at New York Recording Studio in Livonia, MI
The Michigan native was invited last month to the Brooklyn studios of “consummate piano virtuoso,” John Colianni to record and produce a compact disc of several of Michael’s most requested songs.
Colianni’s invitation came after he noticed Michael’s YouTube videos featuring the pop standards and his jazzy interpretations of “I only Have Eyes for You,” “As Long As I’m Singing,” “The Good Life,” Quando, Quando, Quando,” and The Green, Green Grass of Home.”
“John, his band and I developed an instant connection during my ‘Manhattan Project’ in October,” Michael confessed. “It usually takes months and sometimes years to connect the way we did in Brooklyn.”
As Mel Torme’s pianist in the early 1990’s, Colianni would also jam with Woody Allen and his New Orleans jazz ensemble throughout Manhattan bars and clubs. Les Paul heard John play in the early 2000’s and offered him the piano chair and tour with his orchestra.
“I was excited and flattered that John liked my jazzy interpretations of the pop standards,” raved Michael.
Like a pendulum, Michael’s typical Vegas Show moves back and forth through the late 1950’s, the 60’s and the 70’s. His voice is like a time machine, celebrating the best of those decades’ entertainers.
The former Marine was initially noticed in high school with a group called, “The Sixteen Voices.” Since then, Michael has simulated the Las Vegas Legends on stages both intimate and private, and at corporate events to large bowl and amphitheater audiences.
Michael will appear on stage for one night, November 5, 2022 at the Kewadin Hotel and Casino in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
