The Customer ApplicationsEngineer may sit in either Detroit, MI or Portland, OR and with minimalor no direction, will act as the technical expert, interfacing for keycustomers, internal product management and sales functions while establishingand maintaining strong customer relationships throughout the entire productlife cycle. Create effective customer collaboration to ensure retention,expansion of opportunities and overall growth. Provide strong technicalexpertise through detailed presentations, via face to face interaction, email andphone.
Asa member of the New Product Development team, this Application Engineer will evaluatecustomer needs and recommend solutions against existing Warn products,capabilities and strategies. They will engage, direct, partner and/orparticipate in product engineering and launch teams to deliver early concepts, prototypesand materials for customer or market evaluation which meet or exceed customerexpectations.
Qualifications:
Bachelorof Science in engineering degree. Master degree preferred.
5or more years of professional experience with project leadershipresponsibilities.
5 ormore years of experience in an OE supplier environment is strongly preferred.
Abilityto travel approximately 30% both domestically and internationally.
Excellentcommunication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Abilityto facilitate activities necessary to direct a project's completion.
Proficientwith Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Technicalunderstanding and ability to explain torque transfer, rotating and electro-mechanical products.
Abilityto build professional materials for internal and external presentations usingtools such as PPT, CAD Models, Math Packages and/or Prototypes.
Demonstratedteam and large scale project leadership experience.
Workingknowledge of DFMEA, FEA, DVP&R, NX10.0 or equivalent CAD software and otherindustry standards.
Versedknowledge of various rapid prototyping techniques.
Handson ability to build and work on prototype products and vehicles.
Abilityto work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers,customers and visitors in local and remote locations.
Mayrequire a combination of Standing, and walking and lifting up to 50 pounds withassistance.
