Position Overview
The position reports to the Operations Manager in a plant producing electrodes for the lithium-ion battery industry. This position will focus on the production of quality cells, staffing, training, and work design for the Operations group. The position will also focus on leading and developing a shift of Production Operators. The plant will operate 24/7.c
Primary responsibilities
Ensure the safety of the shift team.
For the shift team, create a disciplined mindset focused on safety, the customer, and results.
Build a team of Production Technicians to support one shift team.
Create a culture of trust, respect, teamwork, caring, learning, and continuous improvement within the shift team.
Manage the people-related processes to support the team.
Coordinate the staffing and production activities on the shift team.
Manage the performance and development of the shift team.
Lead, train, and develop the members the shift team by:
Designing roles to provide meaningful work.
Providing clear expectations.
Actively listening.
Proactively removing barriers.
Providing continual feedback.
Coaching and teaching for improvement.
Holding team members accountable, and recognizing good work.
Managing the training and developmental plan for each team member.
Continually providing information.
Engaging each team member in improvement.
